Something that Jim Jonsin once rebelled against has helped make him one of music’s most accomplished producers. Raised in South Florida, Jim was inundated with the music his parents loved. His mother was a devout Donna Summer, ELO and Fleetwood Mac fan, while his father was a full-blown Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd disciple. Jonsin, however, gravitated towards Hip-Hop and R&B, genres in which Jim would soon become one of the most influential producers of his generation.
Today, Jonsin has been able to combine the common musical sensibilities of the disparate genres of his childhood to become one of music’s most sought-after musical minds. As a Grammy-winning producer, he’s had No. 1 singles with Lil Wayne (“Lollipop”), T.I. (“Whatever You Like”), and Usher (“There Goes My Baby”), and Top 10 singles with Jamie Foxx (“Unpredictable”), Nelly (“Just a Dream”), and Beyonce (“Sweet Dreams”). Building upon his success as a producer, Jim founded a record label, Rebel Rock, and the debut release of his flagship artist B.o.B. landed three platinum-plus singles. In his new partnership with Interscope Records, he plans to duplicate his success finding and developing talent beginning with singer/songwriter, Leroy Sanchez, whom Jonsin found on YouTube.
Beyond his robust musical empire, Jonsin is expanding into other fields. In 2011, Jonsin took his lifelong passion for road racing to the next level by launching Rebel Rock Racing. Rebel Rock Racing is excited to compete in 2014's IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and has become a serious contender in the professional racing series – and although Jonsin’s business universe continues to expand, its foundation remains music, his ultimate passion.
